Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute at Guwahati, India was established in 1973 as the sole cancer diagnosis and treatment center in the entire North East India. The institute caters to the 40 million population of the region. The institute is a Grant In-Aid Institute of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. The institute has all the facilities for cancer treatment, research, and education. The institute has facilities for stem-cell transplant, advanced IGRT/3D-CRT radiotherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy, high dose nuclear medicine treatment, video assisted surgery, and flow cytometer, etc. Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute registers around 14,000 cancer patients every year and more than 200,000 patient footfalls. In a year, more than 1400 major cancer surgeries are performed, around 21,000 chemotherapy cycles are administered, and 2800 new radiation therapy are instituted in the hospital. The institute conducts specialty training and offer full academic degrees to doctors on various disciplines of oncology like radiation oncology, surgical oncology, head & neck surgery, gyaenecological oncology, medical oncology, and onco-pathology. Annals of Oncology Research and Therapy, a publication of Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute, is a peer-reviewed print + online Semiannual journal. The journal's full text is available online at http://www.aort.info. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Digital Archiving Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS. Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website. Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute is the oldest comprehensive cancer center in the North Eastern India catering to 40 million populations of the region. Patients from neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan also attend the institute for cancer management. The institute was established in 1973. Every year around 14,000 new cancer patients are registered at the hospital for cancer diagnosis and treatment. More than 200,000 patient footfalls are seen at the institute for multiple chemotherapies, check-ups, radiation visits, surgery, and other procedures. The institute has high end stereotactic radiotherapy like IGRT/IMRT/3D-CRT etc. high dose nuclear medicine center, and a molecular biology cancer research center. In November 2017, the institute was taken over the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India as a unit of Tata Memorial Center, Mumbai.
The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of Medical oncology, radiation oncology, medical imaging, radiation protection, non-ionising radiation, radiobiology. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference. Presently Annals of Oncology Research and Therapy is publishing reviews, original research/meta-analysis, case series, case reports. patient and caregiver perspective, editorials, and letters to editor.
